LS2 swap under way

How hard was wrapping the headers?

I had some problems with priming the oil pump, but after several oil primes with a pressure tank It finally lives.
I started it up and let it run at 2 to 25 grand for about 4 or 5 minutes, then let it cool, then took it out and ran it hard enough to seat the rings, now I have to behave until I have it broke in well.
There are a few things under the hood I want to change or clean up, and I am still undecided if I am going to run the coil covers I bought, I will have to cut them to fit in against the fire wall if I keep them.
I'll get the video up as soon as it loads, it's taking to long at this point, but I will load it latter.

Sorry for the crappy video, I will have to relearn the Go Pro camera and how to get it to upload easier at you tube.
I will be posting more videos as I can get time to do so.
Thanks to the guys that have helped and have encouraged me to press forward and get this completed. It has been a long project and I have dealt with just about every problem that you could or would have to with the C3 LSX swaps.

Btw my '72 will be down next summer, now that you've done it once mine should only take a few hours. EH.

Well done and looking fwd to hearing some great cruising stories from you.

I saw a '63 swc last night at the local weekly show that had just undergone the swap, all I could do was go back to my '72 and say soon big guy.

I took the car out to show a few of my car buddies yesterday and they were just blown away how nice a modern motor looked in an older car. There are only a few cars around here that have been through a LS swap. It will be fun to see how folks at the shows will react to the LS swap.

hmm that does not sound like a stock cam......
You need to share your header info with Gordon... I think he was having some clearance issues.
nice job......

Pat, you bet I will, this thing is awesome. I am waiting for some video of your sweet ride.
Corey, it won't be long and you will have the same enjoyment, these LS motors are great, I love the fuel injection.
Rebel Rob, I am useing the LS2 Head and cam combo from Trick flow. This combo on a stock LS2 is rated at 550 FWHP, the cam is not real agressive, but enough to let you know you're not driving your dads Oldsmobile sort of speak, It has a real nice sound and a great power band, It also sounds a lot better in person than on video. Hope to get some better sounding videos posted soon.

Oh and I believe Gordon will be running Pace setter F-body headers, He found that they fit well.
I have put about 100 miles on it at this point and have no problems or complaits to speak of , this thing is Awesome. I went to pull out on to a busy road earilier and had to get going quickly and found that traction will be a problem, first and second gear while trying to keep the RPMS from reving to high, this thing was leaving a set of BLACK STRIPES behind with no effort, While I was looking in the side mirror, I seen smoke just rolling off my tires, and that was with me trying to take it easy on it, I know it doesn't sound like it, but I was hardly on the Throtle, and this LS is not fully tuned yet.
I am super happy with this LSX 402 swap, Expensive, but worth every penny.
The car is living up to it's nick name I gave it a while ago, Black Stripes, Some people don't get it, because it's an all white car, but I think the'll better under stand it now. LOL
Did I mention how happy I am with this car right now?

I drove mine to work today. The first time it has ever been to work and it was a hit. 70 miles one way, left the house at 0430, top down and it was about 60* with a little fog. Mine still needs some fine tuning too. Just can't seem to make myself get out there and Just Tune It!
Quil, Right now I am just going to enjoy the rest of the summer with it and see where I end up next. I am thinking a new street shop frame and C5 suspention, but I am also thinking maybe some CUSTOM IMAGE Corvette flares with some new wheels and 345 size tires on the back, since traction is now a problem.
