'69 350/300, 4 speed with a recent total rebuild has started dying when accelerating moderately from a standstill. It will then immediately restart either in the normal manner (engaging the starter from ignition switch) or will immediately restart while rolling to a stop while still in gear. It has never failed to immediately restart after going dead but has done it several times before again running normal. Does it at operating temp or cold.
I'm gonna go with a fuel starvation problem. Maybe a bad "S" hose off the fuel pump, maybe a plugged fuel filter, maybe a collapsed and plugged sock in the tank, maybe your float setting is off. A whole lot of maybe's. Start checking everything from the fuel tank to the Carburetor. Good luck.

With a recent engine install I would look at the wiring to and around the dist , wire from the outside terminal of the solenoid to the coil, the motor will start with out this hooked up but will kill the engine if touches a ground. Also the hose to the fuel pump, bending an old hose could cause it to fail.
I'm going with the classic "90% of carb problems are in the ignition" on this one. I had this problem one time many moons ago, the car would start and run until it warmed up, then die. It was the ignition coil needed replacing.
