Default Rear spindel

man oh man I don't know what I did but this one is in there for good I think.
I think I am missing somthing the inside bearing is toast and yet the spindel will not budge from the housing what am I forgetting about.
I even tried to get the assy off the trailing arm but now one of the studs turn with the nut when I try to loosen it I guess I will have to spot weld it in place.
and I haven't even tackeled the shock mount yet that I'm sure will be another :mad fun job
One more thing
Has any one experienced a problem with pressing out the spindle
Thanks
Aaron

Aaron,
I'll try to help out here if I can. First exactly what stage are you in? Sounds like the trailing arm is still on the car and you're working at removing the spindle in that position? If so I owuld recommend removing the complete trailing arm to work on it. I removed the arms off my 69 back on Good Friday and I'm just getting to assembling them.
The left side was rust welded to everything. the arm was rusted out junk but if I tried to remove the spindle with it on the car there would be no way to do it without wrecking a lot more of the parts involved. The front bolt was of ,course, rusted solid and no penitrating oil was going to break them. I used a sawzall on the right side and a torch on the left and it was a PITA no doubt about it.
What I did was to cut the arm off about 6" from the frame pocket so get everything out of the way. Once I had the arm on a bench I socked it with PB Blaster after repeated attempts of using a 20 ton press to separate everything. The PB Blaster really helped once I let it sit overnight and was then able to press it apart. If I attempted to use the vette tools for this arm they would have broken the caliper bracket for sure. I was able to save and reuse it. Again trying to do this on the car would have been almost impossible.
Good Luck,
Gary

Yes the arm is still in the car but if I can get the hub off then I will be all rite the thing is that one of the studs turns with the nut when you try to loosen it off so I was thinking of spot welding it in place so I could turn the nut. Then the hub can be removed. however I am still left with a stuck spindel.  I am real close to sending it to bairs but I am a stuborn man and I swore that the next time this happens I would do it my self.

The stud is replaceable. I removed mine and installed grade 10 3/8th bolts. If you can weld it go for it or cut the nut off, you can replace the knurled stud. Once this assembly is off a press should take care of the the spindle.
