I am having issues trying to loosen the trans cooling lines. I'm going to put some PB Blaster on them today and tomorrow morning to see if I can get them loose.
I have everything else unhooked. Just can't get the cooling lines off. Don't want to cut them but that may be an option tomorrow.
SO, the good news is that I"ll pull the trans, replace the seals and install a new converter. BTW, this is by far the dirtiest job I've done so far.
Bad news is that when I unhooked the exhaust, found out that my driver side muffler was hanging on by about 1/4 inch of the pipe. Guess its time to get new mufflers too.
Mine had compression fittiings on the lines. I guess someone else couldn't get them off either. I ended up cutting the line close to the fitting and usiing a socket on the fitting and that was with the body off, so I wasn't having issues with getting a wrench in there.
Got the transmission out this morning. What a mess.
Just need to clean it up, get the seals replaced and put on a new torq conv. B&M Torkmaster 2000 I think. Not sure if a 2400 is a little too high for a zz4 used as a cruiser. Going to replace driveshaft ujoints while it is out as well.

That's using your head!! You'll have to replace 'em sooner or later anyway, so ya might as well do it now, right? Right! My advice is to replace the tranny mount, too, they are cheap enough.
