1974 hood latch cable

Hello, does any one no where the hood release cable comes out under the hood? I have a new cable but can't tell where it appears under the hood, are where to pass it through the inside of the car.Any help with routing would be appreciated. thanks......

it comes out near the top of the firewall drivers side, behind and to the side of the hood latch pin
