Default How will this cam work?

New to the forum but I have been reading for quite some time and get alot of good info from here.....here is my question..wondering how well this cam will work...here are the specs: 79 vette....stock bore 350....going to change to aluminum heads with 64 cc....2.02/1.60 valves....200 cc flow....Turbo 350 trans with shift kit and stock converter....4.11 rear gears.....the cam I am asking about is the Erson cam 480/480 lift with 230/230 duration and 108 LSA....wondering how well all around this cam will be with vacuum for the power brakes and headlight controls....this car is a weekend driver with street fun and some track.....any advise would be most appreciated...Thanks

I would think that it would work fine, with 4.11 gears and aluminum heads you could probably go bigger, but with the stock bottom end I wouldn't go with a cam that worked past 6000 rpm. you'll want to match the stall to the rpm range of the cam.

108 LSA will give you some definite lope. If stock L48 with dish pistons and 64 CC heads, you will be lucky to make 9.5:1 static compression. 230 degree cam might be a little big and affect your vacuum. May want to consider an Isky Mega 270 or 264. 270 is a 108 LSA and I believe 222 duration, with 470 lift. Good luck.
