Glad you found the issue. Same as mine, the infamous brown wire.
That said, the driver's side dash is not fun to get behind. You will have to disconnect the steering column under the dash, loosen the connector nuts at the firewall and see if you can get enough drop in the column to get to everything you want to. Otherwise you will have to disconnect the steering column from the rag joint in the engine compartment. Unfortunately, there is a lot of stuff crammed into the small area behind the dash, so take your time and do not get in a rush.
Ok, entire lower dash is out. Thought I'd have to repair the wire but it still had the clip on it and popped right back into the plastic connector. No idea why it popped out in the first place, except dot say that Bubba has definitely been behind the dash. Lots of parts to replace while it's apart. Does anyone know where I can find vent ducts? Drivers side fresh air vent is badly cobbled. Anyone know what the part under the center console trimplate with the vent door levers is called? If I can find those 2 parts I'll be good for a while.
Just about ready To put the dash back. New headlight switch, Speedo&Tach refurbed, all new gauges, clock rebuilt, rebulbed, all new vacuum hoses, refurbed the radio, rebuilt center console. All because 1 little wire pulled out on the ignition switch. I still don't know where the single brown wire with brown connector goes. Can that be the aux RH door pillar ground? It looks like the same connector as on the oosoez schematic. I 'd say it's about in the same place in the harness. If it is, where does it connect? Anybody know?
