Default Fan Shroud Door
Does anyone know what the function of the door is on the bottom of the fan shroud on my 79? And what causes it to open and close? It seems like fresh air would be allowed to bypass the radiator when it is in the open position.

Do you have a picture? The replacement shrouds from corvette vendors have no apparent door in their pictures.

Actually only on 79/80 L82/air conditioned Vettes.

How or why, I got nothin'

Standard engine, no door; L-82 with AC, trap door.

I've heard my door close before, but don't have a clue when it opens.
