Always hated turbo mufflers...
......what other options do I have ? I have just never liked that buzzing sound they make. What's the next best choice ? I don't really want loud just not turbo.

the original Turbo muffler the one made for the turbocharged Chevrolet corvair was a great sounding muffler. i hope you aren't confusing the fart cans on ricers with that great muffler.

Look into Dynatech Split Flow mufflers. They have a straight thru design and really sound good. Not too loud either-I always passed decibal level at Etown muffled events. Reasonably priced also.

I got those on my firebird. They are definitely the quietest of the bullet type mufflers. I'm happy with mine.

The Dynomax by Walker Muffler company is available at any NAPA parts store or warehouse.......no rattle can sound and one of the best performance mufflers available......if you have horsepower then the Dynomax is the best way to show it off.......

You mean you don't like the fart box that sounds like the car just ate a burrito?

that's what the muffler looks like but that part number may not fit your system as they are just like the rest of those 'performance mufflers sold by size......No one except yourself knows the size you need.....all mufflers slip over the existing pipes......therefore a local NAPA is the wisest choice in case you guess wrong and then you can merely exchange them.....

I just think all turbo muffs sound like a turbo. You can hear it in the muffler. I guess it's not really a buzz but they all have a similar note. Maybe I'll try a "bullet type" muffler next.

Doesn't anyone use the Thrush Turbo mufflers any more?
My 350 sounds like a hot rod should.
The mufflers are reasonably priced, somewhere between 21 and 28 dollars each.
Google them. There are a bunch on you tube.
I've ran these since the late 60's and have always enjoyed the sound,
But I'm old.

I had some thrush turbo mufflers one time with 2.5 in and out and the car ran like a 3 legged dog.
I looked in them and the inside pipe was 1 3/4, thats why they are a universal muffler, 1 muffler fits all with different size joining pipe.
Now the Thrush welded mufflers are awesome because, you guessed it, they sound like a Flowmaster!!!!!
