Horn not working....help
After I installed the new harness the horn will not work.
When I plug in the horn relay it energizes and I get sparks and plunger in the steering column gets hot. I can unplug the horns and the relay does not energize and I have twelve volts on the wire going to the horns. I can unplug the harness from the steering column and the relay energizes.
I know this is a simple system..3 wires and a relay...but this thing has got me baffled.....any help would be appreciated.....
Thanks

But Wilcox have a complete kit. I just did mine and very easy to do. Take the honker off and see what is not making contact and order their kit of just the piece you need. Wicox is a good company to deal with and you can actully talk to somone there,
instead of "Sorry Charlie your 30 min or 30 mile warranty is gone, buy another one from us whats $100 to you guys that drive Vettes.
What happen if you are doing a frame off and the parts aren't installed in 30 days

Kinda funny because I was late one night and did a second gear burnout in front of a restaurant ( totally my mistake ) that all the kid with their fart cam mufflers to make them feel more macho and brought a mass of patrol cars out to harass me. There were 6 patrol cars there 4 from local police and 2 from Enviromet Canada wasting am hour on a 50 year old guy with his price and joy out for a spin.
My horn didn't work, there was one fine, he said "does the parking brake work" and I told him yes it does. The Vette was not running by then and I pulled the emergency and the red brake light went on at the dash.
Him being a ***** and not knowing my car yet went around the back. Before he got there I pressed the brakes on hard and then he tried to push it, needless to say it didn't didn't move so i got out of another fine. Matter of fact I ditched the actual cable itself.

I found this by removing the original connector from the the old wiring harness and using jumpers checked to make sure everything worked as it should. then checking the old connector to the new connector found the wires were installed wrong....just a thought...when you get a new wiring harness check all your connectors to the new harness and make sure they have wired everything correctly.........see you when I have another problem, or when I get the car finished and post pics.
