I emailed Cobra Accessories, and asked about dimensions, finish, etc. I received an answer from Paula, and she said that they are out of stock right now, but she will send me that information in a couple of days when more arrive. It would be great if they fit our Hooker sidepipes.
I received some dimensions for the slotted heat shields from Paula at Cobra Accessories:
They are 31 1/2 inches in length, about 5 3/4 inches from one opening on the bottom to the other but this can be stretched or pulled in a little with the brackets that come with it. The height down from the top is about 2 1/2 inches when they arrive but again they can be shaped a little. They are a very nice looking satin finish.
I think I understand the measurements, but I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, I'm thinking about getting a pair, and fitting them up to see how they look. They have a pretty good return policy, so if they don't work, they should be easily returned. Here's a photo:
I got some info on my heat shields.
They where in a KEYSTONE catalogue from 1991 .
Unfortunately, absolutely no contact info is given is this catalogue, no phone number, no fax, no address.
What is KEYSTONE ? Is it so well known that they can issue a catalogue with no contact info ?
I spoke to the previous owner of my car and he bought in 1990 a side exhaust for his ( I think ) Blazer. This pipes came with the heat shields, which he later on swopped over to the Vette due to heavy burned legs. :mad
Sorry for not being of any better help.
Pls let me know wheater this KEYSTONE still exists and may be even a contact number.
Thanks Gunther
