I picked up a new Speedometer Cable that by passes the transducer and goes dirrectly from the trans to the back of the instrument. Hope I got the right one...One side has the screw in part that goes to the trans and the other side has no screw in part??????Something has to hold the cable to the instrument?????Is there a snap device at the instrument that attaches the cable to the instrument?????? :seeya Cappy
I did the exact same thing Cappy and there is a clip on the back of the Speedo. The Transducer kept snapping the cable from the tranny up and after I bypassed the Trnsducer no more problems. Who the Hell needs Cruise Control anyhoo.

thamzid,
Did you have to remove or take down the instrument cluster to install the cable to the back of the instrument? Or can this be done upside down, one handed, and in Braile? :D :seeya Cappy
Upside down on head and in Braile. No i did not remove the instrument cluster. The biggest problem was not destroying the rubber grommet in the firewall. I used just a standard off the shelf cable that was long enough and reused the metal support off the old cable that was down near the transmission.
