I broke my headlight doors (help)
I was troubleshooting a problem with the HVAC not blowing from the upper vents. Under the hood near the power brake booster, there’s a small vacuum line that I believe is the vacuum source for the HVAC selector. I was using a Mighty Vac to apply suction to that line. I had vacuum for about two seconds and then nothing.
Well, all three vents (vent, heater and defroster) seem to work – I guess I “woke” up a sticky door or something. But now, neither headlight door will rise. I’m hoping that it’s something common to both headlights. Here’s what’s up (or not):
-Both the headlight and the auxiliary switch are dead
-The headlights do not want to be opened by hand, so I guess the “close” function works.
-With the headlights raised manually, they close when the car is started.
-I hear some hissing from the headlight and auxiliary switch when they are in the “on” position. I don’t know if it was that way before or not.
Thanks in advance

This is a web site I found last night, has a good diagram of the vacuum system,as well as an explanation on how to test the various components.
Just click on vacuum troubles.
Hope this helps Neil.
