Default Cowl hood gasket

I am refinishing the underside of my hood and want to know how the gasket at the rear of the hood is held on. Mine is in so so condition and I don't know if I want to tear it off and get a new one. From what I can tell, it looks glued on. Is that so? Is getting a replacement gasket to stick hard?

Use weather stripping adhesive (black) and follow the directions on the tube...piece of cake.

P.S. You definitely want to replace it as its purpose is to keep hot compartment air out of the cabin. Have a look:

gluing it on is no piece of cake.
no channel to position or hold the rubber inplace, and it wants go a different direction.
I had my hood upside down, on a bed, and used lots of big books to hold everything in place while the adhesive sets up.

Trust me, you won't have a problem when using weatherstrip adhesive. After the hood is properly cleaned, coat both the hood and the rubber with the adhesive and let them sit for a while. Then you put the weatherstrip in place. Once contact is made, it is there to stay. That is why I said to use weatherstrip adhesive and to follow the directions on the tube.

Don't forget to clean the weatherstrip as well as the hood!
