As I was removing my wiper door recently I discovered that the bolts were corroded so badly that each all 4 snapped in 2 as I attempted to remove them. As i was attempting to extract and them, I discovered that Corvette Central has a repair service for 49.00. They advertise having a special jig, and quick turn around.
I'm sent mine in ... $49 bucks a 1 1/2 weeks later - the big brown truck brings it back good as new - THIS IS A GREAT SERVICE !!!
That's good to know. I recently repaired one of my bolts by removing the door, tapping the threads from the outside ....towards the inside and reinstalling a new bolt. It's tough to get a ratchet and your hands in there...isn't it?

:yesnod: ...just 'greased' mine - door didn't work with all the corrosion & paint overspray. Now it operates so fast -you'd probably get your hand chopped off if it was in the way !
Luckily - none of my bolts broke - and they were in 'decent' shape along with the nylon washers..... there's a kit from 'Mid-America' for $29 that replaces all of these. ;)
