I finally got around to opening the box, and installing my new L88 hood, after a month or so of it sitting in the garage.....and the fit is OK, but I need to somehow slide it forward about 1/4 inch, and shim the hinges about 1/8 inch, and then the latches in the back need shims too. Shouldn't be a huge deal.
So what's the best way to shift the hood forward. Slot the hinge, or is it possible to redrill new holes to reposition the hinge. I haven't had time to get a close look at it, this weekend I spread 75 tons of stone on the driveway............

Did you just take the bolts out from the hing to hood. You can gain a little by loosing the hing where it bolts to the radiator support and move it some forward from there.
you don't need to shim the latches, there should be height adjustments on the male side. and don't forget to recenter the latches before you close the hood.
Had a minute to look at the hood alignment. Looks like I need 1/8 inch shims under the hinges and to slot the hinge about 1/8 inch so I can shift it forward. The hinges bolt into weld nuts in the fenderwell. I think it would be too much trouble to relocate them.
Roco71,
I loosened all the hinge bolts, even tapped with a screw driver and hammer to try to shift the hinge forward,...didn't budge.
The rear latches had shims on the original hood.( It is an 80) More on one side than the other. I don't see a way to adjust other than adding shims,...and now that I need to shift the hood forward, I'll probably need to slide the latches forward somehow too.
Here's a shot of the hood gap I'm trying to reduce....and you can see the hood sits low in the rear on the passenger side. Driver side is fine.
