Default Temperature Indicating Devices

I am not getting readings on my water or oil temperature gauges. Could you advise on how to perform a few bench test to determine which is at fault, the sensors (sending units) or the gauges? All fuses have been replaced, printed circuit attached to back of gauge assembly has been cleaned and properly connected. I am at a loss with this issue.

I give it a shot tomorrow and see if I can eliminate one or the other. You wouldn't know where I could get a windshield wiper control switch by channce?

Oil temp gauge is not a standard gauge so you are kind of on your own there. Testing the temp gauge is easy. Follow the Willcox instructions.

No tonyv123 I am looking for the actual switch located in the dash. Wiper motor checks out. I will run a few more test today on switch leads. If it proves defective, then I will remove (what a job), clean, re-install and hope for success. Thos windshield wiper switches for an '82 are near impossible to find at a reasonable price.

Default Temperature sending sensors question follow-up

I have read all that I can, looked at videos (non-specific to the 82 corvette) and still am as stumped, if not more, as everyone else who has contributed an opinion seems to be. The sensor issue for the 82 corvette seems unique to other years in the same generation because of the oil temperature gauge replacing the clock. I do get resistance 9ohm) readings and they do change as temperature rises, but the ohms get larger, not smaller. There is a very slight needle movement on the gauge, but no where near the 180 mark. Could another sensor from a different year be the answer? If I am comparing sensors, should I be looking for a particular ohm reading on a "cold" sensor and, if so, what should the reading be. Is there a particular brand that has proven itself to solve this problem? Someone has had this issue and resolved it I am sure and I would like to hear from you. I know the engine is not over-heated, but I would like to rely on a gauge reading for peace of mind during a ride. This issue is also occuring with my water temperature gauge...exactly. Lot's on sensors on the engine (left bank = water and oil temperature, right bank = ?, front = ECM coolant temperature switch, and behind manifold = oil pressure). Sorry for the ramble, just trying to get out as many facts as I can to help someone solve this mystery.

I found this online:

TEMPERATURE SENDER, WITH GAUGE -- Male connector, 1 terminal, closed at 100 degrees Fahrenheit 1425 Ohms with 7 percent tol, open at 220 degrees Fahrenheit 147 Ohm with 15 percent tol, male terminal, blade terminal type; A high quality, direct fit OE replacement temperature sender; With 90-day or 3,000-mile Standard limited warranty.

It is a correct replacement temperature sending sensor, but I also found:

AC DELCO ENGINE COOLANT TAIL GATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY -- A high quality, direct fit OE replacement engine coolant tail gate sensor assembly; Replaces OE number 10045847; With 12-month or 12,000-mile AC Delco warranty.

I don't know the difference other than the physical configuration. The engine coolant tail gate sensor assembly resembles the sensor on the right side of the engine (passenger) with a two wire connection and the temperature sender with gauge (TS-76) resembles the sender on the left side of engine (driver) with blade connection.

Have a look and please advise before I order:
