I was just reading a thread about someone's misfortune in dinging up their Vette and it got me thinking.... do any of you notice that when you hurt your Vette, it usually will hurt you back?
I don't mean from a financial standpoint like if you do something stupid like back out of your garage with your door open and the repair costs you an arm and a leg. I'm talking literally... like you drop a wrench on your fender and your Vette mysteriously shifts into nuetral and rolls over your foot... or something like that. :cry :cuss :cry :cuss  :yesnod:  :D
I swear, this very, very true. Think about it. I know I've accidentally hit my Vette with something and then ended up cutting myself, or getting my thumb closed in the door or hood or something. It's  but I swear it happens. I used to think it was coincidence, but the correlation is just to consistant.
Anyone else out there ever notice this. I know you all believe that your Vette does take revenge on you sometimes. If you didn't, many of you wouldn't talk to your Vettes, go out and tuck it in under it's cover at night and say "Good Night" before you go to bed, and all those other things that non-Vette owners would think is absolutely nuts. To me, it is very normal! :D

Ummmm... Isn't there a show on Discovery or TLC called "Mysteries"... maybe you should be on it. :yesnod:

Perversity of the inanimate. I know what U are talking about. I experience it alot with computers. Once to get my puter to work I had to threaten it with impending destruction. Amazing how my puter worked when it was threatened with the window.

Hmmm, interesting idea, but I'm not sure I would threaten an inanimate object that you are trusting with your life. If you **** of your Vette enough, it can decide to take revenge while your doing 100+ mph on the expressway. :p:

That's why I trust her (the vette) completely ! ....at 100+ mph it takes 'faith' that your car will perform problem free - sure somethin' might go wrong but a well-treated car is a 'docile' animal. :D
I do get :mad at it - but the car let's me know (although it's probably my 'sub'-concious putting stuff together - I still go along)....
I mean it can't hurt anything to treat you're vette like a living, breathing specimen, right ?!?!? ....It's all about RESPECT. :yesnod:
Re: Sensative and Vindictive Corvettes??? (verskel)
I talk to my car the same way I talk to my dogs, with the supposition that it hears and responds to the tones of my voice. Anthropomorphization demonstrates the human need for emotional feedback from those things we care about. We love our cars and so wish it could love us back. Whether it does or not is beside the point because those of us that name our cars are all crazy as bandycoots.
Re: Sensative and Vindictive Corvettes??? (FeedVaal)
Alright now... if we keep using words like anthropomorphism and bandycoots, other less "educated" Vetters will be too intimidated to respond to this post. :p: :smash:  :U :(

I swear there's a secret room in the factory where they install the 'soul'.
:blueangel:
I think I saw it when I went for a tour through the factory! They had a priest with a Chevy Bowtie on his jacket who disappeared into a small room just off of the assembly line.
