we're they difficult to install? would you recommend someone with very little mech experience to install side pipes. I have 79 l82 what tools do you need? Was it difficult removing existing exhaust? I like the black valve covers.

Hi,
Not too hard to fit , provided the headers are made right....
Side pipes will require some fab for the mounts, if you are not mech inclined prob best to get a shop to install.
Yeah I like the retro valve covers, they just clear roller rockers too.
These headers only required a couple of taps to fit

If you can get the car jacked up enough, have the ability to remove spark plugs, oil temp sender, coolant temp sender and maybe another item or two, you can put them on yourself. I just put the Hooker SS sidepipe/headers on my '76 L-82 4-sp. They just fit without using a BFH to dent pipes. But I did need to cut the rocker panel on the left side with a dremel. You hardly notice the cut.
