What's a set of heads like this worth? and are they worthless in terms of modern performance?
I'm not necessarily interested in them. I just saw the ad and it wasn't something I was familiar with. (He's also got a ZZ502 cam, eagle 6" h beam rods, dart single plane intake, unilite distributor, and a 7.5" G-body posi axle if anyone is interested).
Phase 6 were aluminum heads that GM used in Nascar before the were allowed to use SB2 stuff. They are a 23 degree head and most were shipped without valve seats so the builder could put in whatever they wanted. They were cast with small runners but had a lot of material in them so they could be opened up when doing the port work. I dont remember the exact number but the intake valve is offset either .040 or .060 to allow for 2.100 intake valve. As an all out race head they were a little short on horsepower compared to something like a Brodix -10. But if you want to use them on the street the would be great as long as they were not open up to far. Say not more than 200cc to 210cc max intake runner.
