I like to clean up my engine bay a little more by moving this big honkin'
Accel coil. Anybody with a C3 mount their coil on the passenger side of the firewall?
yellow 72, I just re-read your post and I now realized you and I are trying to do the same thing, hide the coil. What I would like to know is "Does the length of the wire from the coil to the distributor matter?" and if it doesn't that would give you more options under/behind the dash to put the coil? Have you figured out how to hide all the vacuum lines for the headlights?
Red73, I think if you keep the wire length resonable (no more than nessesary)there should be no problem. I really have yet to map out any locations under the dash. This firewall feed-thru from MSD will eliminate wire end issues --> http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...209&prmenbr=76
I had a C/SA 64 plymouth 426 wedge that must of had a three foot coil wire, never missed a beat. As far as vacuum lines I just try to route them as short and tight as possible. Sometimes you can double lines up in that plastic conduit that doesn't look bad. I've even given thought to making hard lines for most of the front vacuum stuff
I've thought about a hard line for the headlight vacuum, I just haven't taken the time to do it. Some of the best looking street machine/rods that I've seen have minimal wiring in the engine compartment and I think they look out standing. GM has forced us to be creative in cleaning up the engine compartment.
