What is the name for the part that goes between the coil and the rotor for the high voltage path? This is the piece that touches the middle of the rotor on one end and has a spring on the other that electrically connects to the coil.
I am trying to find a replacement but do not know what this part is called.
I have found these names since posting my question: distributor bushing, distributor contract, distributor resistor.
Appears that it depends upon the vendor....
I just need to get one as I thought I would try a 4 pin HEI distributor with associated carb on my '81...just to see if there is a difference.
The HEI distributor that was given to me needs a few parts and this was one of them. Does this contact normally come with a new cap and rotor, along with the rubber washer?
