Ignition Problem - Help!
I've got a 1981 with a 350 crate engine... starter is pretty new and original 3 speed auto transmission.
I went to start it and nothing. Heard a click, but the starter did not engage. I waited about 15 minutes and tried again, and it started right up.
The battery is relatively new - about 1 year old.
This was 2 months ago.
Since then everything was working fine, so I chalked it up to a random event.
Then yesterday I was at a repair shop talking to the lead mechanic about some transmission mods and when I went to leave, it did it again - turned the key, click, and nothing.
He checked the battery and it was fine.
He connected a device to remotely engage the starter and it fired right up... so at this point I have ruled out the battery and the started.
We were both in a hurry, so there was not time to do any further diagnosis.
Anyone have a clue? Any experience with a similar intermittent issue with starting their C3?
Suggestions how I should proceed?
