Default Spark plug wiring from distributor

This non-mechanic needs help. I just dropped a ZZ4 crate engine in our 72 convertible. Unfortunately I didn't pay very close attention to how the plug wires left the distributor on the old engine before I disconnected them. Since there are no identifying cylinder numbers on the ZZ4's HEI distributor, how do I know which post goes to which cylinder?

Pull out the spark plug on the #1 cylinder (driver side front). Then have someone bump the starter over while you hold your finger over the sparkplug hole. When you feel compression come up get the timing mark to about 10 degrees before TDC. Pull the distributor cap off and wherever the rotor is pointed in cylinder #1. Then put on the plug wires the cap going clockwise in the following order - 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. With cylinders number 1-3-5-7 on the drivers side and cylinders 2-4-6-8- on the passager side.
