I pulled the tranny today but could not get the bellhousing off. I pulled the six bolts, but it would not budge. I think the dowel pins are the only things holding it on. I pulled the starter and flywheel cover already.
Can I pry it off gently somehow?
Please help. I need some advice on how to pull that bellhousing.
Yes, its just the dowel pins. Just get a wide and flat pry bar or screw driver to gently nudge in between the block and the bell...kind of like working the lid off of a paint can. Its probably possible to chip one [although unlikely] so just use common sense as you work around. Realistically it will take one to two tries
I was faced with the same situation seveal weeks ago when I wanted to paint mine, take a rubber hammer and tap on the lower and upper part "rock it" as they say. It will come out, after you removed the four bolts that holds it.
