Holidays, what a great way to share your passion. Boys and I spent majority of the time going over some "gear head" video. One talked about "Hydraulic Clutch", I am ready to put he engine back in my LT1. has anyone did the conversion to hydraulic clutch? care to share the "Pro's and Con's"? thank you.
I just did it as part of a auto-to-manual conversion, what do you want to know about? (in terms of installations only, as I still have the car up on jack stands).
Your car has a hydraulic actuated clutch in it already, nothing to buy just put it back together. In fact all C4s do.
Days of linkages are long gone.
The C3 has the original LT-1...
At any rate, OP - if your original mechanical linkage works fine, there's really no reason to switch out.
I don't know of any kits to install one, typically the master cylinder is mounted to the firewall (with some kind of reinforcement) and the slave attaches either to the bellhousing of the transmission or is internal and integral to to the throwout bearing.
In either case, a hydraulic linkage uses fluid to achieve the same effect as mechanical linkage.
Pros: no binding, can run more convoluted routes. Can be lower effort.
Cons: seal erosion causes you to lose the ability to shift. Many complain of lack of feel.
