Mini Starter Install Question.
I am hoping to install a new mini gear reduction starter on my car tomorrow. It is a 1970 C3 with a gen 1 350 motor, a Quick Time bell housing and T56 Magnum 6 speed trani. I know I need to check the pinion to ring gear clearance and the pinion backlash, but not sure how to do it without pulling the motor or trani since there is no inspection access with the solid bell housing. Any ideas? Really don't want to pull everything apart.

I'm thinking about the same while I'm installing the TKO600, of course since the tranny has not yet put in the car yet I can easily adjust the pinion to ring clearance, but after the installation it would be harder to do, maybe you can use a modeling clay on the starters pinion gear to see the impression of the ring gear? I haven't tried that yet but it looks like its going to work.
