Default Grant Steering Wheel adapter

Hello and happy new years to all!

So, for christmas I was given a steering wheel for my '79 C3, it's a Grant 457 (http://www.grantproducts.com/products/view/19/)

and my father also ordered and picked up the installation kit, 4193 (http://www.grantproducts.com/products/view/276/)

I've searched the forums for a straight answer but just got conflicting answers: My Corvette has a telescopic and tilting column, if I use this installation kit on it will it still have said functions?

My understanding is no.

You will lose the tt benefits with anything but a stock mounting wheel.

Actually I've e-mailed them twice before and got an answer.

I tried calling earlier but apparently the lines were busy, I may have to wait 'till tomorrow to get an answer.

Will a stock 78-82 wheel still have the same mounts and keep the T and T feature? Supposed to be smaller than the 68-74 size

I not even sure that the adapter will work on the tilt/tele column. The Grant catalog says that the adpater is for 1968-1982 Corvette All Models (without telescopic).

Grant does make a wheel that bolts directly to the tilt/tele column.

791 - Black Leather
792 - Mahogany rim
794 - Mahogany rim with black spokes

I have the 791 on my car and it is about 1" smaller than the stock wheel. Easy install, just replaces the stock wheel.

Not the best pic but you can see the steering wheel.

I would have actually preferred a wheel like that just so I can keep my car as original as possible but the Club Sport wheel is the one my father surprised me with for christmas so...yeah :\ Can't complain much though.

Anywho, I got an email back from them (more or less useless because it's not what I asked) saying that the kit is for standard columns only and that they sell three bolt-on steering wheels that fit a t&t column. (The ones you mentioned) But I replied back asking if I could still use the other kit and sacrifice telescopic. Hopefully I can because the t&t kit is about $106 at Pepboys!

By the way, what's the diameter on the steering wheel you have? Looks a bit smaller to me than the stock.

EDIT: So I've received an e-mail reply and regardless of what it said I still went out and tried to fit the new steering wheel. Definitive answer: No. No other steering wheel except the three that Steve mentioned work with the C3 T&T column.
