Default air distribution box Help

I have gutted my interior on my 81 and I am checking the vacuum actuators for all of the doors. I am trying to take off the main box on the right side of the car right beside the air inlet. I am trying to remove the box but it seems stuck and I do not want to break anything. I have removed the 3 screws that seem to be holding in in place. any help would be appreciated.

4 screws. Two on the top, and two on the bottom. Upper left of the box is a bolt attached to a clip. You only see the bolt head (ROUND not hex). The clip the bolt is attached to SLIPS INTO A SLOT on the main box. All the other bolts go through HOLES - this one is in a SLOT. Once you get the main box out it is easy to see.

THIS ROUND HEAD BOLT MUST BE LOOSENED FROM THE ENGINE FIREWALL SIDE.

You are right to be cautious, you can break the sides of the main box slot pretty easily.

If you still have a problem, I'll try to find a picture to post.

The motor is good so right no it is an interior and fixing the AC and drive it for a while then we will see how Far I wind up taking it. I tend to think I am going to do something small and just keep digging into things until it is all new

Thanks for all of your help

Any one know how to get the air inlet damper out I want to replace the seal. it is crumbling. it looks like you pull down the spring on the top and then just push up the bottom to pull it out. just thought I would ask. before I started pushing and pulling
