Vacuum Secondaries vs DP
Swapped in a Richmond 6spd a couple of months back and now have a few miles on it.Question is should I switch over to a DP carb, now that I have a manual trans? Current setup is a 570cfm Holley Street Avenger atop an Edelbrock air gap.Edelbrock heads,Crower 00320 solid cam advanced 4 deg, roller rockers.I have no bog or hesitation motor seems strong all the way to 5k.Will the performance be that much better with a DP? Or should I keep the VS and fine tune it with QFT adjustable unit?[IMG][/IMG]
Anyone switched carbs?

Hoo boy...one can of worms, coming right up!
Generally speaking, the only place a DP has a performance advantage over VS on the street is zero-to-WOT. Properly sized and adjusted it will generally beat a VS carb in that scenario.
The "cost" for improvement in that one situation is overall reduced fuel economy and somewhat reduced part-throttle throttle response. Note that an improperly tuned VS carb will "bog" at zero-to-WOT.
If you're happy with the throttle response, it's safe to say you're not going to make more power with a DP carb.
