Default Windshield washer cover attachment?

Can someone explain to me how the cover for the windshield washer motor is attached. It looks like it is only attached via the hole in the top of the cover of which the shaft goes through. But how exactly do you attach it? Does it simply snap on or is it fastened in some way?

Appreciate any help.

Yup. Assuming you have the typical for production unit, there should be a bit of a tip/barb on the end of the shaft. You'll likely have to push the cover on, flexing the center section a bit to engage the tip. This tip locks the cover onto the unit and then the yellow and blue wires connect, under the shielded "hood". Make sense?
