Question on '81 motor????

Default Question on '81 motor????
Hi, when we pulled the motor we noticed 2 sensors (?) on the side of the heads, on the passengers side it is located on the side to the rear of the head and on the drivers side, there is one towards the front of the head.
Any idea what these might be used for? Thanks, Tom

I think that is the water temp sensor.

Water temp on drivers. Aux fan switch on pass.
