I gave my daughter a 76 vette forher 16th birthday. For christmas she rebuilt top end from a stock 350 and installed new timing chain and gears, distributor cap, plug wires, intake edelbrock, edelbrock carb. Car runs great when cold, but after it warms up it will not run, it will start barely but will die..... Any suggestions?
She removed the emission items; so i had her blank off the EGR. The choke appears to be disengaging ok. The edelbrock replacement carburetor was one set up with the EGR; but do not think it would be that.

i'd blame several things in the carb. float level, inlet needle stuck in it's seat, doubtful but possibly vapor lock, fuel pump going bad-enough gas to start but not to keep it running long. considering it was probably sitting for a little while after overhauling the top of the motor it could be bad gas. clogged fuel filter? could be 20 different things
Don't know if it's the same issue or not, but a PO removed all the emissions stuff from my '76. When it got hot, it would stop running. After it cooled/sat, it would start up. I switched to a vented gas cap to release pressure from the fuel tank and never had the problem again. You might try and remove gas cap when it's having the issue and listen for the sound of built up pressure being released. Vented caps are $10 at AZ.
