Engine and trans removal question.
I have slowly been disconnection everything from my motor and transmission. The only items left connected are the motor mounts, shifter and lockout cable. I am starting to wonder do I really need to remove the shifter? I disconnected the arms to the trans, but I feel that since the shifter body is attached to the frame it should not need to be removed. I plan on pulling the engine and trans together. I have removed my radiator and support and it looks like I just need to lift a bit and move everything forward.
So can anyone tell me for sure that I need to pull the shifter.

the bottom of the shifter plate is bolted to your transmission,youll need to remove the bolts first,.thing is when your about to put it back in it will be easier if the shifter is completely out when you reinstall the motor and trans.
