Chris and I made the exchange for the 69 a couple weeks ago. A good drive for both of us. I've got all the damage corrected and the car is repainted. I still have some small parts to paint and alot of buffing and assembly to do. No runs, no sags, no errors... well a few particles of dirt that will sand out. I'm always amazed at how little dust gets into my paint considering the hole I shoot in!
Nice. My wife and i,yes i said my wife, are planning a camping trip up your way real soon. Within the next 2 weeks i hope  I will finally be able to get you your a/c parts.
Good for you Larry  I wish I could paint my car. I don't care about doing the mechanical things like the rear bearings, trannies, differentials but have never done a paint job. Bob, here in CT, did his car for the first time and it looks pretty good.

That looks great!! Were you able to repair the damage, or did you have to buy some new panels?
I'm also very curious what type of booth setup you have for painting. Filters. airflow etc. After painting my nose in the garage . . . now doubt I'll be building some type of booth for the repaint on the car.
Scott:
Cool - glad things are coming together for you.
Frank:
I used PPG Deltron basecoat (DBU) with Delta clear (DCD35).
Under it I used K36 and a polyester coating (Z-chrome).
Gary:
It's not hard - give it a try some time.

I was able to repair the original front end. Most areas were very easy to fix. The only real problem was getting the drivers side headlight opening the right size. Had to take the metal support off and rework it. After that it kinda fell into place.
I really don't do much to get ready for paint. I use the same stall I use for everything else. I do hose the entire thing (ceiling, walls...) down a couple days before then let it dry. Then I wet the floor a little before I start spraying. I have a small exhaust fan in the wall and a SurviveAir fresh air system.
I have borrowed a booth a couple times but I still seem to get a few dusties in there. If I was going to do anything short of buuying a booth it would be bunches and bunches of floor lights.
Glad to hear it's comming along!!! I love that car!!! I really wanted to buy that car myself but there was absolutly no way I could justify it!!! Hell I even tried to get my brother and a couple of friends to buy it!!!
Looks like it's comming back to life nicely!!! Enjoy it!!!
