Hell yes!
Some time ago, I found a '68 convertible selling for $5000 in the collector car trader online. It had an '80 front and rear on it. Looked darn good for the price. I posted a link to the ad here on the forum. The post got pounded with "Who would do such a terrible thing to a chrome bumper car!!!". I didn't really care how it came to be, for the price I thought it was a cool project car for the money.

I personally prefer chrome bumper Vettes. However - the 80 - 82 style bumper looks absolutely  on those Vettes too!!!
If I would be looking for a Vette right now I would probably bid on this one!!
I personally don't really care about resale value on my Vettes. Especially not on my 68.. Including what I am going to spend on the new engine and transmission plus installation I have already $38000 in my car....
If I would sell it I couldn't even get $20k for it....
However - my GrandSportC3 will be mine forever...
She's my BIG BOYS TOY....

The seller is the same loser who sold tworottiedogs his car, and "lost" it. He didn't "find" it until he was threatened with legal action.

It'd be alot cooler if it were an 80' converted to a big block 68'vert. Those crome bumpers look sweet!

This is an excerpt from the seller's E-Bay feedback profile:

Complaint by tworottiedogs - Do not deal with this person!! Email me and ask why! No delivery of a Corvette.
Response by mboterashv@aol.com - Car was shipped. I am doing anything I can and offered to refund full amount.
Follow-up by tworottiedogs - The refund must be in the car. I haven't seen it either.

I did that same conversion in the summer of 82. I used a 69 427 435 hp 4spd donor car. The car is white with red 1980 interior. It has both the hard and soft tops. I still have the car. I am not sure how many 80 conversion verts there are out there. But it is not a new thing. I have seen atleast ten since I did mine.

I was hot after a `69 coupe once that had the soft nose, but I don`t think it was an `80 nose. The car retained the`69 rear end and the side "gills". A very sharp Vette. I like this Yellow `Vert but if the seller is an A- ho...

For those who don't know the story about this eBay crook, here are a few of tworottiedogs related posts. Some of the earliest posts related to this situation aren't in the archives any more but these should paint a clear enough picture for ya. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=139025 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=144879 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=174994 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=184369 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=189646

I think this guy has a brother who sales brake calipers in Florida :D
