I just purchased a 1975 and the antenna is up and i was going to put on the car cover i just purchased. When i went to push down the antenna i get a lot of resistance. I dont know if the antenna is a powered antenna and don't want to force it. If it is a power antenna will it come up when the radio comes on and down when its off or is there a switch. i took the battery out of the car.

I never knew a 75 antenna retracted. I thought you just unscrewed it at the base and just removed it.

It is a power antenna. i got up under the car and i can see it. I cant see the wires and how they are routed. I see the antenna cable has been cut. also there is a panasonic radio where the original was. I put in the battery and when i turned it on it didn't do anything to the antenna.Its a New car to me i guess ill find all kinds of things.

there was no hole in the cover so i had to poke one thru it but they supplied a reinforcement patch. It would have been nice if they already had the location marked.

I guess somebody could have put a power antenna in and then install a panasonic radio to control the power antenna.
