Did you actually see your pistons before they put them in your motor? Did they have raised domes?

If you don't have Vortec style heads which require self aligning rocker arms, then as far as I know you need pushrod guideplates to keep the rocker centered on the valve stem.

A picture would be worth a thousand words here.

Guideplates aren't required with stock rockers, but if there's an alignment problem then I wonder if the shop enlarged the pushrod holes for some reason...? Regardless, if the stock rockers are seriously cockeyed, putting on roller rockers isn't going to help.

Pressed studs should be replaced with screw-in studs if the heads were hot-tanked.

You went to a higher lift cam with pressed in studs, you need to have the heads converted to screw in studs with pushrod guide plates. Rollers arent going to solve your issue.

No they did not, guide plates fit under the screwin studs and the 69 L48 had pressed in studs.

I had studs pull out before from a high lift cam. Lifter popped out of the bore, oil pressure went to 0 and it spun the bearings in the bottom end. We used to drill and pin them but your best bet is to pull the studs, thread the holes and install screw in studs with guide plates.

thanx guys..i called a machine shop that bin building race motors for 30 years when i told them i had a big cam they giggled at me aparently 480 lift is not big at all and dont reqier any mods to the 350hp heads as for the rocker they also told me the rockers do slide to the end when lift is up but straitins out they told me to just install the roller tip 1.5.2's and adgust them like stockers and if they roll off they will fix the motor....well i installed them and they are fine i took the car up to 124 on the hiway and nothing bluw up...lol...so far so good......thanx again
