When I got the car a couple months ago, the right turn signal indicator (in tach) wasn't working. Turn signals, front and back, worked fine. Ok, no problem; just replace the bulb, right? Of course, wrong. The bulb in tach was kind of corroded. Cleaned bulb and socket. Now, the bulb works but doesn't blink when turn signal is to right; stays on steady. Replaced flasher. Everything works great! Not exactly. Turn on headlights, right turn signal indicator light again comes on steady. Dimming dash lights has no affect. Flip turn lever to right and indicator blinks. Something I've noticed: Left turn, front side marker and parking light blink alternately; right turn, marker/parking light blink at same time. Any suggestions (besides: Don't drive at night or thru tunnels.)? Thanks, Bill
sounds like my problem! mine does it intermittenly to the right. I have 1971 with tilt steering.
So, if I move the tilt up and down( not while driving) I get the turn signal to work properly. I believe my problem is in the wiring in the column. My flashers don't work at all. If you solve the problem before I do please post. Mike
My turn signal indicator illuminating dim all the time was related to the front RH turn signal/marker indicator. The ground contact was bend inward not making contact with the bulb housing. Maybe your's corroded?

Electrical problems can ALWAYS be traced to a ground problem! The sooner I learn that, the better off I'll be! Wombvette and Dembo, I'm sure you are both on the right trail. Trouble is: the da#m thing is working perfectly now!!!!!!!! I'd taken the grilles out to refreshen and also to inspect the bulb housings, and the problem still existed. After I read your posts, I went out to check the groundings, started the car up, turned on the headlights and BINGO: everything working fine. Have I mentioned that I HATE ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS????? At least I'll know what areas to check the next time it happens. BTW, 71 driver, all I can tell you is to check ONE thing at a time (ground?) and see if that fixes the problem. Thanks a bunch for the help guys, and brgds, Bill
Take a piece of striped copper wire and wrap the base of the bulbs on your front marker/blinker lights to make sure ground is making contact. Mine does the same thing. If ALL lights do not have a complete circuit, there will be problems. I had one dim blinker light and left was slower than right... infact, still is until I can investigate further.
