Hi all.
A good friend of mine is looking at buying a 1970 vert. It has 57K actual miles. It's a two owner car.
350/300
4 speed
tilt wheel
am/fm
new brakes
new paint. (Green)
Untouched power train.
Can anyone help with a fair price estimate. ?
My '70 Daytona Yellow is close to the same optioned car ( - tilt/tele) but I
have A/C. No Hardtop. In So.Texas, A/C adds a Premium to the Price! I have $20K in mine with 19,000 (actual?) miles. Car is a "EXTRA NICE" DRIVER,
but not a SHOW CAR. MY paint, interior, suspension, drivetrain are all in good to excellent shape. My opinion is that in Texas the car you described should fall in to the $14k - 17K range. Sincerely, GENE
The price guide I checked pegs it at about $15K, if it is nice. Obviously a lot of factors to consider like frame condition (bird cage too), top and interior condition, etc. etc.
It also depends on what you want it for. The lower mileage will take the price up and therefore, if you are looking for a driver, you won't necessarily care about the low mileage and want to pay for it. If you are going to restore the car and show it, then the lower mileage will be attractive and it may be worth to pay a little extra to get a more original car.
My two cents. Good luck.
PS Post some pics and we can help narrow down the range.
Anywhere from $10k to $20k depending on condition and what would need to be done to bring it to like new condition. Interior stuff often costs more than mechanical engine stuff. Donnybrooke Green was a really popular color back in 1970, but not nearly as popular now for corvettes. ~Juliet
