As some of you may know I'm replacing my cracked 350, and while I'm at it I was told, might as well replace the clutch while it's all apart.
Chatting with Jegs they said this would work with what I have now http://www.jegs.com/i/Centerforce/183/DF148552/10002/-1
and I poked around the forum a bit and people seemed to like it.
Tho some said it was like an on/off switch, and not a good daily driver but great for the track.
It won't be a daily for me, more like a weekend car (well daily when I first get it running haha).
The most powerful manual I've driven was a Honda Accord...
That being said... Thoughts?
It's intended for high horsepower, high torque engines. So if that's not what you have, your left leg will learn to hate you.
Horsepower: 355 @ 5400 rpm
Torque: 405 @ 3600
That's right off the place I ordered from.
Probably not what you'd consider high horsepower, but compared to what it had in there before... and compared to my 93 Corolla..
A clutch closer to stock would be better, the description I posted is right off Centerforces website. Why dont you go to their site, www.centerforce.com and see what the recommended clutch is? They recommend DF612909.
Yea but then you're talking $277 to $415
Can I even use the clutch look up tool? They are basing info off of the original motor which was a 2 piece rear, the new one is a ZZ4 which is the 1 piece. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
I put a Zoom MU-5505-1 kit in mine. Comes with disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and alignment tool. Good stock-replacement unit that would easily handle 350 HP. It's been in the car for four years now with no issues. Nice smooth takeup, no chatter. Got it from Summit.
I went back and looked at the DF612909 and they give it the same description as the DF148552. Since you seem to be buying everything from Jegs I would go with their recommendation based upon you telling them the primary usage of the vehicle.

I saw that one too but haven't heard anything about it.
That Hays link I posted above comes with all the same stuff as well.

Reason I go with Jegs is just because they have been very helpful, their pricing is very competitive with summit plus they offer a military discount.
Figure, they treat me well, might as well support em?
