Rear End Restoration- Part II *pics*
Well almost everything is ready to get put together, as you can see in the images. All of the paint is from POR15. It was a pain in the butt to get it to coat nicely but it is indeed tough stuff.
I like this picture.. kinda ispirational :)
We're putting the spindles together on Wednesday.. more pics later this week.. stay tuned!! Thanks for everyone's help and support! :seeya

Lookin' good. Those are some pretty parts. It's always nice to reassemble painted components, it looks so good when you're finished. By the looks of things it will look really good. Can't wait to see the final product.

Depending on your choice of wheels, this would be an opportune time to install Moroso 2 7/8" 7/16 in .480 knurl wheel studs.... I just finished installing these longer wheel studs two days ago on my Corvette.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, although i only deserve half of the credit ;)
Another thing.. smokedtires... the bushings you sent did not fit :( the outside diameter is smaller than the strut rod.
AC- Thanks! Now i'll REALLY open the carb up!
Burners- Oh trust me.. i can't wait either... you shoulda seen what the parts looked like when we took them off :U
Aaron- I know what burning feels like... I burned myself on the engine overhaul. This too. I think 10 years from now i'll really appreciate all the hard work. There IS a substitute for cash! Seriously-It's gratifying and i learn a lot!
Steve- It really is! I just wanna drive it! This is the last big project for a long time. I mean i overhauled the whole drivetrain.. there's nothing left :D ;)
Darcy- Yikes! I totally forgot about your email during the exam turmoil :(. Let me know if you still need the part!
Zane- Thanks!! :blueangel:
Olivier-
Motorhead- The twins will be kicking once i scrape some pennies off the floor to get new wide tires for the rear.. as DeTomaso put it- "they are bald and unsafe!"
LS-5- Thanks! I know i'm getting excited.. i see the light!!
Lamar- yeah the red really stands out! I cna't wait for the car to run again.. Gotta order a shim kit, and 3 bushings.. i think that's about it!!!
OK i should get to bed soon. have to be at Morgan Stanley early in the mornign :) Look for pics of the Assembled spindles late wednesday/thursday :) Nighty night!

Darcy, what wheels are you running and how did those studs work out for you? Upgrading my wheel studs is one of the many things to do on my long list of projects (so is rear rotors and Tom's outer axles).
Jenny - looks great!

Nice rear end. So there :p:
Seriously, though.. that looks very nice. I like how well the diff carrier turned out. Makes me wish I had taken the time to do mine when I had the chance. For now I want to get it back on the road, so that's going to have to wait...

Rob:
I'm running centerline pintails 17"x9.5 with a 5" backspace. I need a 3/8" spacer btn rim and roter which enable me to make max use of the longer wheel studs. The wheel studs work great.
Jenny:
Yes, I still need the part.

Jenny The rear end came out beautiful. Now is the time to replace the studs. Go one size up to 1/2 inch by 3 inch. They only require a slight amount of work to install and while your at it why not go bigger. Summit sells skin packages of nut for under $5. per wheel.
Anyway nice job.
Have a nice day
