Default motor mounts

I bought this 1979 corvette off a friend and he has put in a 1987 350 crate motor in the car. When I got everything hooked up the steering rod is rubbing the oil pan.I tried bushing up the mounts and then they would not line up can anyone tell me what to do on this matter? This is the steering rod that goes under the oil pan.
Thanks

It's possible the pan is wrong for the car. You can disconnect the steering assembly from the frame on the passenger side. With the front supported by jack stands and the suspension free the steering assembly will drop enough for you to get the oil pan off. I would suggest you install a Corvette correct oil pan, Corvette correct engine mounts, and everything should line up just fine when the steering assembly is bolted back to the frame on the passenger side.

Yes Sir; You might check on which side the Oil dip stick works on, When you buy a different pan. You might have to buy a shorter Pick Up Screen ,for the oil pump too. Interested on seeing what you find. Have a great day. Gene
