Ok, so I'm having some more brake trouble. I'm short on cash and realized all 4 calipers have leaky seals. I replaced the rear brakes removed the proportioning valve, and removed the front brakes. I replaced the master cylinder, bench bled it and hooked up the rear brakes only. I plugged the hole for the front brakes as well. I only need the brakes good enough to get it down my drive way (its steep) and park it in a trailer. Anyways, I bled the bake brakes and took it down to see if it would work, worked ok, couldn't stop on a dime at any speed, but it could get down the drive way without crashing. So I parked it in the garage, and realized I didn't put the gasket in to the master cylinder(between it and the firewall). Being slightly OCD with the car, I put the gasket in, and my brakes felt spongy, not only that, but now I'm hearing air escaping from somewhere. Anyways, today I went out and re-bled the master cylinder and like I suspect there was tons of air. Is that because I removed the seal it had from the firewall initially? Well anyways I finished and moved on to bleeding the brakes.. Nothing. It wasn't holding any pressure. The air escaping was even worse now. I think I have it tracked to either the space between the MC and the firewall or under the MC where there is a little hump with a hole through it. I got to looking just right and I noticed there was a hole running from the center of that hole up through the MC (if that makes sense.). I figured it was to let air escape as the brake pedal is pushed or released. However, it sounds like there is a bubbling, like fluid is getting in there. I'm sure there is something wrong, clearly. however ,what is the fix and what is the problem?
you shouldnt have a hole in the bottom of the master that lets air in or fluid out. Can you post a picture. The gasket between the master and the firewall will not let air in under normal conditions. Is the back of the master cylinder leaking?
Your pictures appear to link to Microsoft Hot Mail but require a user and password. I meant the back of the master cylinder, is it wet with fluid getting past the piston seal.
Is the fluid foamy or small bubbles... I have seen leaky masters right from the box...but if it worked fine before you pulled it off again...I would guess you have let air back in the system.. I also wonder why you said the car doesnt stop well... The rear should still lock up... But then again the portioning valve might be slowing the pressure flow (does it have a porpotioning valve..did you cap that also?)to the rear since it doesn't sense pressure to the front brakes.....

The fluid that I'm noticing is between the MC and the fire wall (general area)

I removed the proportioning valve all together. I have it hard lined right from the rear brakes to the MC.

I haven't actually witnessed the fluid coming from anywhere, but I hear the sound when I pump the brakes. Sometimes it sounds like just air and other times it sounds bubbly.
