first sensor is located on passenger side engine manifold between ehaust ports, between #7 and #8 plug -2 prongs 1 black wiire 1 blue wire??
which wire should be where?
second os on drivers side between #1 and #2 plug 1 prong no wire attached
if its the temp sensor should there be a green wire??
How could it be on the exhaust manifold between 7 and 8? You must mean 6 and 8, right? Same with 1 and 2, you mean 1 and 3, right?
I've never seen any kind of sensor on the actual exhaust manifold on a car that old, I have no idea what that could be, maybe it's not the original motor. The one on the driver's side is most likely the sensor for the coolant temp gauge, should be a dark green wire going to it.
On my 79 L-82 the sensor in the right head between the 6 and 8 cylinders is for the auxilary electric cooling fan and the sensor in the head between the 1 and 3 cylinders is the temperature gauge sensor. FYI the cylinders on the driver's side (left) of your engine are numbered 1-3-5-7 and on the passenger (right side) are numbered 2-4-6-8.
thanks that is what i meant! sounds like you solved the mystery!
i am loosing my mind the previous owner replaced the engine and the wiring is a mess plus they spraypainted the engine compartment along with alot of the wiring so most all the wires are black and ?? Thanks for the info
