Default A few upgrade/mod questions

Howdy-

I'm doing a TON of work on my 1974 right now, and I need some more opinons/help.

I need to put new rearview mirror glass in, but IIRC there were a few who put new style GM mirrors (Gentex?) in with the compass and temp. Is this a viable mod to do to my car? Does anyone have any info on this? (I did try to search but couldnt find where I thought it was)

Also, I am rebuilding my heater box (non AC car) and was wondering if I should do the C4 blower motor/squirrel cage install? Do you just need the cage and not the motor? I plan on doing the thick ground wire. For the spacer, how do you secure it to the heater box and fan motor?

Let me know if you guys have any info on this.

Thanks,
Will

For the blower motor use the search thread. There's tons of topics on this. Your motor is fine and capable. Once you install the thicker ground wire you'll hear/feel the difference. As for the fan cage itself. I don't think for a heater this is worth the trouble for you. If you had A/C, then yeah, because you want to cool off quickly. But for a vette with just heat? The int. heats up pretty quick without using the heater, just by the motor alone. LOL

Yeah I have done much searching but that is just the info I was looking for....saved me 30 bucks! You're right, with just heat, the upgraded gound should do nicely, along with the rebuilt heater box and sealing of the ducts.

Alright, so that's one mod checked off the list - Ground but no new fan.

Thanks,
Will
