I am in need of a new set of tires. I tried to purchase Goodyear ST, but I found out from Goodyear they no longer make them. I like to look of those tires, and don't know what tire would look just as good. Goodyear suggested Eagle GTII or WIngfoor HP. Very unsure???????
ANy Suggestions.
Go to the Goodyear site and look at their selection. They have it where you put in your car model, desired tire qualities (like looks, performance, rain traction, etc.), and size. Then they'll tell you the perfect tire for you based on you input. http://www.goodyear.com
I bought a nice set of Firestone Firehawk SS20's. Tires are about $75 each for size P255 60R15. I upgraded with that size over the stock P225 70R15's. Huge Difference! They ride better, and have excellent grip. With the P225 70's I could burn the tires in first and chirp them in second, and they still had tread on them. Switching to the Firestone's, I can't spin the tires at all, unless it rains. Gives me an excellent launch. I picked the firestones because I wanted something different!
I put 255/60VR15 Pirelli Scorpion Zero's on my '77. Paid $85 each plus shipping from http://www.tirerack.com It's listed as a "sport truck tire" . This gives you a slightly stiffer sidewall for better handling. They handle great and aren't noisy. The VR speed rating is good for149 mph.
