Working on a 76 corvette which my son in law dropped off in my garage, along with a lot of boxes of "parts", for my project car. I have found out that I am the third person on this "Father, Son " project. I have the car put together, put the new battery in, hooked it up. Nothing, no bells, no lights, no buzzers, nothing. I am hooking the body grounds up. I have the ground from the #1 body mount hooked up and the antenna ground also. Am I missing any other important grounds. I am baffled. Thanks for the help

Grounds:
Battery ground is on the frame near battery.
Tail light ground is on rear frame near muffler.
Front lights ground on radiator support on passenger side.
Frame to engine is from passenger side motor mount to starter bolt.
Dash, speedometer and tach ground on left birdcage above hood release.
But you check the positive battery wire too, there a 2 fusible links near the starter and one on the alternator line. Confirm that they are good.
There may be a 6 plug connector on your year, if so, it will be behind the back of the distributor.
what dose the fusible link loo like are they a plastic barrel looking piece. The ones on the red wire going to the starter, and are they replaceable or do i have to get a whole new harness? This will keep the bells and whistles form working? And I almost forgot to ask if the ignition switch have anything to do with the problem. Where would I start to look if I can move the shifter when the key is in the lock position. Would that be the neutral safety on the transmission.

Yes the FL's are the two "barrel" pices.
Confirm at the starter that you have 12 volts from the big positive from the battery to the starter. (Solenoid top post)
Then confirm 12 volts on both sides of each FL.
On the schematic the FL is called a thermo wire.
New ones can be spliced in if needed, but test first. http://www.nrjvette.com/johdotukset/...tte%201976.pdf
