Default Doug's Side Mount Headers / Tubes

Any body used these yet? There have been so many negative comments on the Hookers I though perhaps someone has bought and used the old Doug Thorley product now owned by Pertronix. Personally I love my Hooker Headers.

Got a set from Corvette Central, no fitment issues on my '77, but waiting to get a set of STS baffles, and then bolt the tubes up to the frame. Watch the chrome, it will scuff fairly easly.

I have them. I couldn't be more pleased with the fit. NO fitment issues at all. The car is a '68 road race theme convertible that was a small block car that has been converted to a big block. They clear everywhere, manual steering box, z bar, and idler arm. I tried 2 other brands before these with multiple clearence issues with the idler arm being the worst area of interference (interesting enough both of the other brands had smaller diameter tubes). The other 2 header companies claimed it was the car that was "off" (frame must be bent). Now if they are correct the Doug's may not fit your car but I'm guessing that their "jig" is what's off and maybe there quality control as well.

Great1 I have a newer set of Hookers that I had ceramic coated so it will be a while for me. I saw that Doug had some and I was hoping that others may see them - could be that better alternative that everyone has been looking for.

The "dimple" in the #3 cylinder tube at the steering box is from the factory and done before the coating is applied. Again these were "bolt on" with no clearence issues.

Looks good. Looking at getting a set for my BB swap and have them coated locally to match my Hooker sidepipes.
