Default standard to power brake conversion

I have a '73 with standard brakes that I am going to convert to power. The standard M/C uses the upper two bolts holes to attach to the fire wall versus the power booster which uses the fourbolt pattern, including the two lower holes. The larger (2") hole for the M/C op rod is centered on the upper two holes. Am I correct in assuming I need to get out the hole saw and bore a larger hole in the center of the 4 bolt pattern for the power booster op rod and seal? The seal on the booster measures about 2.25". Any feed back is welcome and a PM is best.

Also, I understand about swapping the two hole positions on the brake lever for the op rod and the brake light contact piece, and I have the piece I need.

Thanks,

Paul

Do a search.A lot of people have done it.They even sell a kit with everything needed if you want to go that way.Worst part is bleeding the brakes.

Yes, the pattern is built into the backing plate. You will have to re-drill the upper holes in a new location and move the rod to the lower hole.

The AIM shows the correct hole drilling for the factory power brake system.

Default Thanks and progress update.

Thanks for the help. I did find that the vertical hole spacing is 3.5" on the booster and only 3" on the car so one pair of holes will have to be redrilled. wombvette says it the upper holes that need drilling and that makes sense because there is no room for the lower holes to move down without slipping off the edge of the bracket on the inside of the firewall. I managed to install the new brake light trigger piece and got the old op rod out. I also hole sawed the fiberglass to clear the rubber boot on the new booster. Tomorrow I will drill the upper holes and finish the job!

Thanks fo the advice.
